This is a beautiful summertime scene of Marlborough, NH by Chinese/American artist Chen Chi. Watercolor on paper, sight size 14 3/4 x 22 inches, outer frame dimension 25 x 33 inches, c. late 1940s, signed in English and Chinese with the artist's stamp in the lower right corner, in a very fine blonde oak frame and cream colored linen mat. Chen Chi was born and raised in China, and began his career as an art teacher first at a girl's high school, then at St John's University School of Architecture in Shanghai.

This charcoal drawing by John(Jack)Fenton measures 10 x 14 inches and is pencil signed on the lower right corner. In this image, Fenton depicts local characters gathering at the blacksmith shop to catch up on daily events. Fenton was a native of New York and studied at Columbia University and the New York School of Art. He became a painter, illustrator and teacher with his works exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago.
