Oil on canvas, 14 x 20 inches, signed lower left. Marie Osthaus Griffith was the older sister of Edmund Henry Osthaus, one of the most successful painters of hunting dogs in the United States in the 19th century.

A fine original etching by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden, image size 5 3/8 x 8 1/4 inches, 1870, state V/V, published in 'The Portfolio, VII' (1876), cat: Schneiderman-134, signed and dated in the plate. Although this image is the published state, the rich tones and delicate drypoint lines indicate this to be an early impression, before these details were worn away during publication. A beautiful impression on a thin Japan paper.

This drawing by Dexter Dawes measures 21 1/4 x 14 1/2 inches and is dated "July 7, 1929" on the lower margin. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and drawings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club
