A beautiful still life of peach colored roses nestled in a woven basket, created c. 1890, oil on canvas, signed "S. Wimmel"(?), l.l., housed in a period frame, 20 x 28 inches, painting size measures 14 3/4 x 22 3/4 inches.
This etching by the Mid West artist, Charles Dahlgreen measures 7 1/2 x 5 7/8 inches and is pencil signed and titled. Dahlgreen attended the Art Institute of Chicago and studied under Frederick W. Freer. Like many Mid West artists, he spent time in the artists' colony of Brown County, Indiana which was formed in the early 1900s by artists who were attracted by the undisturbed picturesque landscape known as Peaceful Valley.
