Still Life with Peonies
1897-1970, American

A vibrant still life by New England artist Arthur Herrick, oil on canvas, 25 x 30 inches, c. 1950, signed, in the original frame. Herrick studied at The New School of Design in Boston and was an illustrator and designer before taking up painting. He lived in Westmoreland, NH and specialized in plein air landscapes of New Hampshire and Vermont, as well as scenes of the Rockport and Gloucester area of Massachusetts.

Concerto
1900-1981, Polish American

This original etching by Frederich Taubes measures 10 x 8 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the l.r. Created in 1939 in an edition of 250 and published by the American Artists Association. Taubes was a well known painter, printmaker, author and lecturer. Born in Poland and educated in Vienna, Taubes eventually became a student at the Bauhaus studying color theory with Johannes Itten. Moving to NYC in 1930 he became a society portraitist with a very wealthy and famous clientele.

Very nice sketch of a tree, standing alone in a meadow, with clouds in the background. This Dexter Dawes pencil sketch is dated 1913 and measures 6 x 9 inches and has sketching notes in the artists' hand on the lower margin.
