Still Life With Flowers
1872- c.1950, American

This pastel still life by Dexter Dawes measures 21 1/8 x 14 1/8 inches and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.

The Cliff

This is a rare trial proof etching by Charles Woodbury, image size 5 3/4 x 7 1/4 inches, c. 1920s, pencil signed and numbered "2". A rich impression with beautiful plate tone on a fine watermarked wove type paper. Charles Woodbury grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts and graduated from MIT with a degree in mechanical engineering. Although he had very little artistic training, Woodbury was a very successful artist from a young age; at 19 he was the youngest member of the Boston Art Club.

This two sided drawing by Stephen Parrish measures 6 5/8 x 10 3/8 inches. Done in black ink, c. 1890, with a Maxfield Parrish Jr. family stamp on the lower right and upper left in black ink. Another drawing of a homestead with split rail fence, possibly his own, in on the reverse.
