Autumn Shadow
1891-1979, American

This c. 1920's landscape by the American artist Kenneth Macintyre measures 25 1/2 x 24 inches, signed and framed. Born in Boston, Macintyre studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Architectural Club of Design. During WWI he designed camouflage motifs for Naval ships and after the war opened studios in Washington, D.C. and California.

Ferryman
1867-1949, American

Etching, image size 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, c. 1925, edition of 100, pencil signed and numbered. Paul Ashbrook studied at the Art Students League in New York with William Chase, then at the Cincinnati Art Academy with Frank Duvanek, with whom he maintained a close friendship, even serving as a pallbearer at Duvanek's funeral. Ashbrook went on to teach at the Cincinnati Art Academy and traveled extensively through Mexico and Europe, creating paintings and etchings of the people and landscapes he encountered.
