Watercolor on paper, sight size 11 x 14 3/8 inches, c. 1930s, signed lower left, framed. Carroll Bill was an artist and architect, studying at Harvard Architectural School. He was a member of many artist's associations, including the Boston Architectural Club, the Boston Society of Architects, the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters, the New York Society of Watercolor Painters, the New York Watercolor Club and the Springfield Art League. A delicate drypoint, this intimate view of childhood incorporates a low perspective, as if from that of a child. Part of an edition of 50, it measures 9 7/8 x 6 7/8 inches and is signed in pencil "S. Tushingham" lower right. (Konody-37)
