Etching, image size 7 1/8 x 10 7/16 inches, plate signed and dated in the cottage lintel upper right. Dietrich frequently signed his work 'Dietricy.'

Painting

The Old Peep Toad Mill
1854-1934, American

Watercolor on paper adhered to mat board, 8 x 10 1/4 inches, signed on the back and inscribed "Old Peep Toad Mill / North S[cit]uate, RI / Aug. 5, 1914." The town name is hard to make out, but there is an old Peep Toad Mill in East Killingly, Connecticut, not far from the Rhode Island state line. Hays had a studio in Providence, RI, and is known for painting bucolic subjects.

This wood engraving by Barry Moser is one of 25 prints from his "Gold Rush" series. Published in 1985 in an edition of 350, it measures 4 x 7 inches and is pencil signed by the artist on the lower margin. The "Gold Rush" series were images portraying gold mining activities from America, Africa and Australia. Moser, from Tennessee, became a graphic artist and printmaker, studying under Leonard Baskin and Jack Coughlin.

Mt. Monadnock

This drawing by Dexter Dawes measures 18 5/8 x 24 5/8 inches. Dawes was born in Englewood, NJ and went on to study at New York City's Art Student League. He summered in Marlboro, NH surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of Mount Monadnock which became the inspiration for many of his lithographs and paintings. He belonged to a number of associations including the National Arts Club.
