Disturbed Pintails
1887-1967, American

This beautiful wildlife etching by Hans Kleiber measures 6 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches. Published in 1948 in an edition of 250 by Associated American Artists, it is pencil signed and titled on the lower margin. Kleiber was a Wyoming painter, illustrator and etcher. Born in Germany and coming to the US as a young man, he became a forest ranger with the U.S. Forest Service. His love of the land and its' wildlife instilled a lifelong interest in the protection and preservation of it. His career as an artist started with his use of watercolors and oils but eventually led him to the craft of printmaking.

This fine pencil drawing of a giant pine tree with its wooded surroundings, by local Marlboro, NH artist, Dexter Dawes measures 15 x 11 inches and is sketched on a medium weight, gray paper. Dawes summered in southern NH, with its' majestic views of Mt. Monadnock where many of his inspirations for his drawings, paintings and lithographs came from.
