Ferryman

Etching, image size 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, c. 1925, edition of 100, pencil signed and numbered. Paul Ashbrook studied at the Art Students League in New York with William Chase, then at the Cincinnati Art Academy with Frank Duvanek, with whom he maintained a close friendship, even serving as a pallbearer at Duvanek's funeral. Ashbrook went on to teach at the Cincinnati Art Academy and traveled extensively through Mexico and Europe, creating paintings and etchings of the people and landscapes he encountered.

This etching by Peter Marcus measures 9 1/8 x 7 5/8 inches, pencil signed, label included from Kennedy and Co. Rare Prints, NY. Marcus studied at the Art Students League and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. His works are included in the National Academy of Design, Art Institute of Chicago and the Salmagundi Club.
