After the Bath

Warren Davis captures the beautiful lines of the female body in this drypoint etching, measuring 7 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches. Pencil signed in the l.r., framed. Warren Davis studied at the Art Students League in New York and became known for his etchings of idealized female figures, many of which were used on the covers of Vanity Fair and Life magazines. Later in his career Davis exhibited in Europe and the United States including the Pennsylvania Academy and the Salmagundi Club.

Portrait of Rodin

This original drypoint etching by Alphonse Legros was created in 1881 and is pencil signed. A delicately etched image of the world-renowned sculptor and artist, Auguste Rodin. Cat: Bliss 237, 9 3/4 x 6 7/8 inches. Artist provenance on backing with label from "Halcyon Days LTD, framed.

The Towing Path

This is a very fine early state etching by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden. The image size is 5 1/2 x 8 3/8 inches, 1864, state IX/XVII, cat: Schneiderman-72, signed titled and dated in the plate, pencil signed. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler.

Strathearn

This original drypoint by the British artist David Young Cameron measures 4 1/2 x 13 7/8 inches. It is pencil signed and titled, in an edition of about 50 proofs, 1925, R. 466, fourth state. Cameron was born in Scotland and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and at the Edinburgh School of Art, becoming one of the great artist of the British etching revival of the early 20th century. Known for his rich, atmospheric images, Cameron often used rich contrasts and deep shadows to create his images of the European landscape and architecture.

Pap of Glencoe

A very fine original etching of the mountain near Glencoe, in the Scottish Highlands by Scottish artist D Y Cameron. The image size is 3 3/8 x 4 3/8 inches, published in 1915 in an edition of about 50 impressions, pencil signed. Cameron was born in Scotland and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and at the Edinburgh School of Art, becoming one of the great artist of the British etching revival of the early 20th century.
