Lithograph, image size 9 3/4 x 13 7/8 inches, c. 1940, pencil signed and titled "Julius Tanzer" l.r. and "Old Farmhouse" l.c., the artist worked during the depression and was a member of the WPA.

Summer Shadows

Lithograph of a house in Wiscasset, Maine. C. 1947. Catalog: Stuckey 171. Pencil signed in the lower right, editioned in the lower left. Edition of 85. Plate measures 8 1/4 x 15 1/4 on 12 1/2 x 19 inch wove type paper. This print showcases his love of New England architecture, as well as his mastery of light and shadow.

Stone Bridge in Harburg

Lithograph with green toned ink, image size 19 3/8 x 13 1/8 inches, c. 1915, pencil signed and titled. In this print, the artist used two litho stones to create the chiaroscuro effect that gives this image such contrast and strong three dimensional quality.

Waterfront

This image by the American artist, Stow Wengenroth, measures 7 7/8 x 12 3/4 inches, pencil signed, 1936, cat: BPL-58, edition of 40. Wengenroth studied at the Art Students League and the Grand Central School of Art in New York, and in the summers studied with John Carlson in Woodstock, NY and George Ennis in Eastport, ME. In 1931 he had his first one man show at the MacBeth Galleries, beginning a long and very successful artistic career.
