This very fine original etching by Ernest Haskell features a richly inked impression and exquisitely delicate lines. The image is size 9 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches, it was published in 1912, and is pencil signed, titled in lower margin. This etching was number 125 in the 1916 exhibition of Haskell's work at Art Institute of Chicago. Ernest Haskell was born in Connecticut and in the early 20th century spent time in both New York and Paris. While in Europe he met Whistler and was inspired to take up etching; his style was greatly influenced by the work of Whistler as well as that of Rembrandt, Da Vinci and Durer.
