This is an early etching and drypoint by American artist Gabrielle De Vaux Clements (1858-1948) This etching created circa 1880 is of a European country village. It is hand signed in pencil lower right and measures an image of 8X11 3/4 inches. Clements was one of a group of Women artists who travel and studied in France at this time. The group included: Mary Cassatt, Ellen Day Hale, Lesley Bush-Brown and Anna Lea Merritt. A beautiful very rare image!
