Marishi Bodhisattua


This delicate woodblock print by Keishu Takeuchi was created in 1911. Sight size is 12 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches. It is matted and framed. The Bungei Kurabu publishers seal in on the l.l. with the artists seal on the u.r. Takeuchi was a student of the famous Meiji artist, Tsukioka Yoshitoshi. Takeuchi worked as an illustrator making mainly kuchi-e frontispiece illustrations for magazines and novels. (M)

Color woodblock print. Print measures 21 x 14 3/4 on 23 1/4 x 17 inch wove type paper. Pencil numbered 154 in an edition of 200 in the lower left. Pencil signed in English: "F. Ueda" and "Ueda Fujo" in Japanese. C. 1962. Red block signature in the lower left.

Bamboo and Boat


An atmospheric original print by Japanese artist Imoto Tekiho, this image measures 15 3/8 x 10 1/8 inches, c. 1940, published by Doi Hangaten, carved by Harada, printed by Yokoi, with full margins, publisher's stamp and artist's seal.
