Strathearn

This original drypoint by the British artist David Young Cameron measures 4 1/2 x 13 7/8 inches. It is pencil signed and titled, in an edition of about 50 proofs, 1925, R. 466, fourth state. Cameron was born in Scotland and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and at the Edinburgh School of Art, becoming one of the great artist of the British etching revival of the early 20th century. Known for his rich, atmospheric images, Cameron often used rich contrasts and deep shadows to create his images of the European landscape and architecture.

Pap of Glencoe

A very fine original etching of the mountain near Glencoe, in the Scottish Highlands by Scottish artist D Y Cameron. The image size is 3 3/8 x 4 3/8 inches, published in 1915 in an edition of about 50 impressions, pencil signed. Cameron was born in Scotland and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and at the Edinburgh School of Art, becoming one of the great artist of the British etching revival of the early 20th century.

Nude, Seated: Interior

This etching by the well known Welsh artist, Augustus John, measures 3 7/8 x 3 1/8 inches. It is pencil signed and framed, with artist provenance on Kennedy Galleries label on backing. Cat: Campbell Dodgson 107 V. Augustus John was a painter, draughtsman and etcher, known for his brilliant figure drawings, his work being compared to Gauguin and Matisse.

Windy Day Cowes Week - Isle of Wight

A fine detailed etching by British printmaker, William Lionel Wyllie. Created c. 1915, it measures 6 1/2 x 14 3/4 inches and is pencil signed on the l.l. This is a great image of yacht racing in the Solent, where Cowes Week is an annual sailing event. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker, studying at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and then at the at the Royal Academy. At the age of 18, Wyllie won the Turner Gold Medal for his painting "Dawn After A Storm".

Charles Church, Vienna

This color aquatint by Luigi Kasimir measures 17 3/4 x 15 inches, pencil signed, plated dated 1925, cat: Lorenz-5. Kasimir studied at the Vienna Academy of Art, although much of his etching technique was self taught and learned through working from nature. He specialized in atmospheric images of architecture, city scenes and landscapes; some bustling with people and automobiles, others quite timeless and serene.

Burgos Cathedral

A very interesting perspective taken by the German artist, Sepp Frank, on the majestic cathedral "Burgos", from his 1923 series "Meine Spanishche Reise Acht Radierungen". One of eight impression measuring 15 1/8 x 19 inches, pencil signed.
