Flying Widgeon

A very fine sporting etching by Frank Benson, this image measures 9 3/4 x 14 3/4 inches, published in 1924, cat: Ordeman-231, pencil signed below the image, titled on the lower edge of the sheet. Benson was a very successful painter and a member of "The Ten" along with Childe Hassam and J. Alden Weir, before he began his sporting paintings and etchings for which he is most widely known.

Russians

An energetic image of a young woman walking her two Russian wolfhounds, this etching measures 5 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches, c. 1930, pencil signed below the image, titled on the lower margin. Diana Thorne was a well known early 20th century artist and illustrator, known especially for her etchings of dogs and illustrations of numerous children's books.

Nude Female Figure

A lovely etching by the American artist Warren Davis, measuring 8 1/4 x 6 7/8 inches, pencil signed. Warren Davis studied at the Art Students League in New York and became known for his etchings of idealized female figures, many of which were used on the covers of Vanity Fair and Life magazines. Later in his career Davis exhibited in Europe and the United States including the Pennsylvania Academy and the Salmagundi Club.

Moorings

This 1890 etching by Edith Penman measures 6 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches in an edition of 60. It is pencil signed by the artist on the lower margin with the address of the publisher, Christian Klackner, in the plate. This image was printed by the artist in black ink on cream wove paper.
