This etching by the well known Welsh artist, Augustus John, measures 3 7/8 x 3 1/8 inches. It is pencil signed and framed, with artist provenance on Kennedy Galleries label on backing. Cat: Campbell Dodgson 107 V. Augustus John was a painter, draughtsman and etcher, known for his brilliant figure drawings, his work being compared to Gauguin and Matisse.

Rocky River

This is a very rare original etching by American sporting artist Frank W Benson. The image size is 7 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches, published in 1921 in an edition of 100, cat: Ordeman-205, pencil signed, titled in the lower margin. There is some old masking tape residue in the margins, but this is outside of the image area and will be covered by a window mat. This print is quite scarce, and an unusual subject for Benson; in most of his images the landscape serves as a backdrop for wildfowl or hunters but in this etching he focuses on the land and river, creating an atmospheric summer scene.

This is a fine example of the Paris etchings created by Manuel Robbe in the early quarter of the 20th century. This etching is titled: "Moulin Rouge", created circa 1925.
This is a combination of color aquatint and etching, it was published by L'Estampe Moderne in an edition of 200. The image measures 11 3/8X15 1/2 inches. This etching is hand signed lower right and identified as an artist proof on the lower left. This etching was originally sold and framed by Merrill Chase Galleries in Chicago, the labels and information are attached to the back of the frame. The etching appears to be in flawless condition, rich colors and inking.

Deep Water

A beautiful lithograph by the American artist, Stow Wengenroth, measuring 12 1/4 x 17 1/4 inches, pencil signed in an edition of 50. This image is of Winter Harbor, Maine, created in October of 1941, Stuckey cat: 110, framed. Wengenroth was one of the preeminent lithographers of 20th century America, known for his atmospheric, incredibly detailed images of the New England landscape and coastline. He studied at the Art Students League and the Grand Central School of Art in New York, and in the summers studied with John Carlson in Woodstock NY and George Ennis in Eastport ME. In 1931 he had his first one man show at the MacBeth Galleries, beginning a long and very successful artistic career.

This beautifully colored etching and aquatint portrait measures 12 x 9 3/4 inches on 24 x 17 3/8 inch arches laid type paper. Print 26 in an edition of 65. C. 1903. Published by Sagot, Paris. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes, becoming a master of the aquatint medium. He developed much of his own aquatint techniques, which enabled him to create his uniquely painterly, richly colored images.

Original 1948 etching by the American artist, Isabel Bishop, measuring 5 x 3 1/2 inches, printed by the artist in the original edition of 22, not the restrike done in 1978, cat: Teller-43. Bishop was one of the foremost women artists of the twentieth century, best known for her images of life around Union Square in New York City where her studio was located. Her sense of observation along with her great technical skill enabled her to portrayed mood and movement in her simple images of ordinary people.
