This is a fine early etching by British artist Robin Tanner. The title is: The Gamekeepers Cottage, it was created and printed in 1928 in an edition of 50, this impression is numbered as XXV. The image measures 6 7/8X8 3/4 inches. The subject was thought to be made at Annie Bryant's old cottage in Kington Langley; at Rose Cottage, Corsham, the home of Heather Spackman, his future wife, and at the family house of the Spackmans. This etching was reprinted in 1982 with some changes made to the design, this is the early original impression, quite rare. Very fine condition. Hand signed and dated in pencil.

Note: This image is the cover illustration for the Bibliotheque Nationale catalog on Chahine. This etching is framed and in nice condition, the coloring is subtle.
This is a very fine original drypoint and aquatint color etching by French artist Manuel Robbe. The title is: Les Baigneuses (The Bathers). THis image wascreated and printed in 1911, published by Cercle de la Librarie in an ediiton of 200. This one is number 69. Printed on a medium weight arches wove type paper, The Librrie blind stamp lower left and hand signed in pencil. The image measures 15 3/8X22 1/4 inches. The catalog lists this image as Merrill-Chase 102. Excellent condition with a small repair in the lower border well away from the image area.
This is an original engraving by French artist Jean Emile Laboureur. This engraving was created and printed in 1920. One of 6 pencil signed impressions prior to publication in L'Architectures in an edition of 500 unsigned impressions. The image measures 11 5/8X8 1/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower left. Very nicely framed with a linen matting. This is one of his largest images done in his distinctly cubist style.

This is an original pencil signed impression of the well known etching, Valkulla by Swedish artist Anders Zorn, 1860-1920. This impression measures an image area 11 3/4X7 3/4 inches. Printed on a watermarked, laid type sheet, very wide borders all around, in nice condition, very light even toning to the sheet where the window mat once exposed it to the light, but unobtrusive, this is a very fine and rich impression, printed on a buff toned sheet. This is an impressionistic original color etching and aquatint by French master of the Belle Epoch, Manuel Robbe (French 1872-1936) The title of this work is:
"Le Bouquet de Violettes", it was created and printed in 1903 in the first edition of only 65 signed proofs. A larger edition was published after the signature was added to the plate. This etching is hand signed in pencil lower right. The image measures 17 1/2X11 3/4 inches. A fine impression, previously sold by Merrill Chase galleries, it appears in the Chase catalog as image number 105. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes in Paris.
With his hand application of color no two images look exactly the same, a very painterly technique.

This is a very rare original lithograph by New Orleans artist Caroline Wogan Durieux. This impression is signed, titled and numbered 5/8 in pencil in the lower border. Also inscribed in the border: "printed by the artist". The image measures 14 1/2X10 inches.
Caroline Wogan Durieux is best known for her satirical, often pessimistic depictions of people and events. She was born in New Orleans in 1896, and showed early proficiency, studying art with brothers William and Ellsworth Woodward at Newcomb College, spent several years in Cuba. In Mexico by 1926, she befriended Diego Rivera , the muralist and social activist, and his wife, Frieda Kahlo . Durieux shared Rivera's leftist and egalitarian views.
