Kuehne was an American artist who studied in NYC before traveling extensively throughout Europe. After returning to the U.S. he became friends and colleagues with Edward Hopper, William Glackens and Charles Prendergast. From 1914-1917, Kuehne lived and worked in Spain creating many landscapes and architectural scenes, including this etching depicting an everyday street in the city of Toledo.

Lithograph by Wilfred A. Readio measures 11 5/8 x 14 3/8 inches and is plate initialed, titled and numbered. Readio was a painter and lithographer known for his scenes of Pittsburgh, PA. and the American West. He was a Professor of Art at the Carnegie Institute of the Arts.
