Clare Leighton

This is an original pencil signed, titled and numbered wood engraving by American artist Clare Leighton.  The title is: Shire Horse, created and printed circa 1930, numbered 50/60 and has an image that measures 3X5 inches on a sheet size of 5X7 1/4 inches.  Printed on a light weight Japan type sheet, very nice condition, matted not framed.  "Born in England, Clare Leighton is among the premier wood engravers of the 20th century. She emigrated to the United States at the outbreak of WWII and became an American citizen in 1945"
