Etchings

This is a fine impression of the facade of the College of San Gregorio, by the German printmaker, Sepp Frank, measuring 19 x 11 1/4 inches, from his 1923 series "Meine Spanishche Reise Acht Radierungen". One of eight impression, pencil signed.

Aquatint, image size 10 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches, 1918, cat. Hardie-163, pencil signed. One of Short's largest aquatints, this scene depicts two fishermen on the Bure at Stokesby Ferry near Acle in Norfolk.

Etching with sepia ink, image size 9 1/8 x 12 inches, 1883, cat: Tyler-100, plate signed and dated.

This street scene by Sears Gallagher measures 8 3/4 x 6 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower left margin. Born in Boston, Gallagher studied drawing and watercolor locally, later refining his skills at the Academie Julian in Paris. He is best known for his images of historic sites and landmarks in Boston.

"The Post Office" measures 9 3/4 x 13 3/4 inches and is pencil signed and numbered. Schutz was founder of the NY Graphic Society. Born in Germany and living there for many years, including some spent in the German Army in WW1, Schutz emigrated to the US in 1924 and attended the Art Student's League of NY, working with Joseph Pennell.

This original etching and drypoint by the American artist Hans Kleiber measures 8 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches, pencil signed, presentation print published by "The Print Makers Society of California" in 1933 in an edition of 240. Born in Germany and coming to the US as a young man, he became a forest ranger with the U.S. Forest Service. His love of the land and its' wildlife instilled a lifelong interest in the protection and preservation of it. The image above was created in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park.
