An early Herrmann Paul lithograph measuring 6 3/4 x 9 5/8 inches, pencil signed and numbered, 8/15. A beautiful image on heavy weight paper with the "Chartres" auction stamp on the verso. Well-known for his illustrative, satirical work of the French upper class, Paul rose to fame during France's "Belle Epoque" period and whose work was exhibited along side other famous French artist's including Vuillard, Matisse and Toulouse-Latrec.
Pencil signed and editioned, print 36 in an edition of 100. Plate measures 4 1/4 x 3 inches on 8 5/8 x 7 5/8 inch laid type paper.
This original lithograph by Alexander Brook measures 8 x 6 inches and is pencil signed on the l.r. Brook was mainly a landscape, still life and studio nude artist. He painted in the Realist tradition. In 1930 one of his oils won him 2nd prize to Picasso's 1st prize at the Carnegie International exhibition. At the early age of 17 he enrolled in the Art Students League and became friends with many of his fellow art students, including Raphael Soyer and eventually married the well known artist, Peggy Bacon.

A truly remarkable original lithograph, image size 11 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches, 1944, from a small edition of 25, pencil signed and dated. Born in England and found to be artistically talented at an early age, Gerald Brockhurst was enrolled in the Royal Academy Schools. A scholarship enabled him to study in France and Italy where the work of the great masters, especially Botticelli and da Vinci, had a lasting influenced on him. He became well known for his classically styled portraits etched with a remarkable sense of detail and texture.

This photogravure by Albert Goupil was taken from a limited edition, eight volume, folio sized set of books entitled “Art of the World,”. Published by the French art gallery Boussod, Valadon & Co. in 1893. The original painting was by Guillaume Dubufe and was originally exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in honor of the 400th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of the new world.
