Etching, image size 6 1/2 x 5 7/8 inches, 1913, pencil signed. Herman Webster was an American artist who moved to Paris in the early 20th century to attend the Academy Julien. There he studied under J. P. Laurens and Eugene Bejot, and was also greatly influenced by the etchings of Whistler and Meryon. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, specializing in finely detailed architectural views, cityscapes and landscapes. This is an early pencil signed proof of this etching; it was later published in a larger edition by the Gazette des Beaux-Arts in 1920.

Drypoint etching with a rich burr. Pencil signed in the lower right. Plate measures 7 7/8 x 10 inches in a 15 x 17 inch silver frame. Rosenberg studied architecture at the University of Oregon before moving into architectural etching, studying at the American Academy in Rome and the Royal College of Art in London. The majority of his work was of European buildings with historic significance.

This fine original etching by John Winkler measures 4 x 6 1/4 inches and is pencil signed and numbered. Winkler attended the San Francisco Art Institute and became enamored with the art of etching. Known for his simplistic line, he was often compared to Whistler. He became good friends with fellow etchers, John Taylor Arms as well as Arthur Heintzelman. His works are found in major museums throughout the US and Europe.
