This is an original etching by Russian American artist Abbo Ostrowsky. This etching is titled: "Croton on Hudson", circa 1931, this etching has an image size of: 10X7 3/8 inches. This is a view of the Hudson river in New York. Pencil signed lower right, nice use of plate tone to show detail in the street.
This image measures 6 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches and is pencil signed, c.1930. Philip Kappel was born in Hartford, Connecticut and educated at the Pratt Institute in New York. He was employed as an artist for several shipping companies and much of his work documents these ships and their sailors. At age 26, Kappel was the youngest person ever admitted to "Who's Who in America."
