Unsigned, the image measures 5X 7 7/8 inches. This image appears in the Bliss catalog as image number 228. Printed on an antique laid type paper, collectors annotations at the bottom edge of the sheet.

Hopper Emory was born in Baltimore, Maryland and had a successful career in banking before he turned exclusively to his artwork. He traveled to England where he studied at the Heatherly School of Art in London, then returned to Maryland where he became known for his delicately rendered architectural and maritime etchings.
This etching by Albany E. Howorth measures 6 3/4 x 8 1/8 inches. It is pencil signed on the lower right margin with a blind stamp on the lower left. A richly inked image of farmers harvesting the summer crop of hay with the delicate, fine lines of Chichester Cathedral in the distance.
