Rockwell Kent

This is a scarce original lithograph by American artist Rockwell Kent.  The title is: Foreboding, created and printed in 1926.  The edition of this image was only 50, appearing in the Jones catalog as image number 8, the image measures 11X5 3/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right border, printed on a Japanese paper.  This print was reproduced in Vanity Fair to illustrate the poem Elaine by Edna st. Vincent Millay.  A transfer lithograph on zink...A very early image by this well known artist and printmaker.

This is a fine wood engraving by American artist Rockwell Kent.  The title is: Sea ad Sky created in 1931 and published in 1932 in an edition of 150.  The image measures 10X6 1/2 inches.  This impression is hand signed in pencil, 14 1/2X11 1/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight Shogun watermarked buff tone wove type paper.  This image appears in the Jones catalog as image number 85....Wood engraving on maple.

This is a fine original lithograph by American artist Rockwell Kent.  The title is: Bringing Home the Christmas Tree,  created and printed in an edition of 100 in 1928.  Hand signed in pencil the image mesures 12X8 3/8 inches.  Very fine condition, Printed on a Rives B.F.K. wove type sheet.  This image appears in the Burne-Jones catalog as image number 29.  It was in the mid-twenties that Kent began illustrating classic literature. By the end of 1928 he had settled permanently in the Adirondack Mountains in his personally named farm, Asgaard. On his farm Kent wrote and illustrated his third novel, North by East in 1930.  This is one of his best modernist lithographic studies that he created during that time.
