This is a remarkable original etching by William Lionel Wyllie, image size 9 1/4 x 14 inches, c. 1900, pencil signed, titled on the lower edge of the sheet. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker in early 20th century London. He studied at the Heatherley School of Fine Art, then at the age of 15 began his studies at the Royal Academy. At the age of 18, Wyllie won the Turner Gold Medal for his painting "Dawn After A Storm". He went on to have a long artistic career, specializing in paintings and etchings of the sea and the city of London.

A great sun-drenched western scene, this etching measures 12 3/8 x 10 3/8, published in 1936, pencil signed, dated and titled. Palenske was equally an outdoorsman and an artist, spending much of his time out riding and exploring the western wilderness. His etchings reflect his great love of the outdoors, as in this image of two riders pausing to look up at the rugged mountain terrain.

Etching by Nicolas Mignard after the frescoes of Annibale Carracci depicting scenes from Homer's Odyssey. Plate size 10 1/4 x 17 3/4, published by Pierre Mariette in 1637, with lettering in Latin below the image. Printed on a very early watermarked laid type paper.

Etching by the German printmaker, Bertha Lebert, measuring 8 1/2 x 6 inches with pencil signature.

Etching, image size 4 7/8 x 3 1/2 inches, 1926, 1st State, cat. Fletcher-185A, pencil signed and inscribed "To my friend Samuel Chamberlain / John Taylor Arms."

This etching by Philip Kappel measures 8 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches. A 1st proof, created in 1945, is pencil signed and titled on the lower margin. Kappel was born in Hartford, CT, and educated at the Pratt Institute in New York. He was employed as an artist for several shipping companies and much of his work documents these ships and their sailors. At age 26, Kappel was the youngest person ever admitted to "Who's Who in America."
