20th Century American Prints

THis is an oriignal lithograph by American artist Michael Mazur.  This image from his Images from a Locked Ward series created and printed in 1965.  This image is titled, The Occupant", The image and sheet size measures 26X20 inches.  Printed in an edition of 75 published by Impressions Workshop Inc. This lithograph is hand signed in pencil lower border.  Printed on a wove Arches buff toned sheet.  Mazur volunteered to conduct art therapy sessions at the Howard State Institute in Providence R.I. there he  created the series, "Closed Ward"  and later "The Locked Ward".  This is image number 3 from that series.

Closed Ward Series, Her Place, #8, created and printed in  1962 , in an edition of 30.  Printed on a Fabriano Murillo wove type sheet.  This  etching and aquatint, measures 23 3/4X17 ¾ inches. Hand signed lower border in pencil.  Mazur volunteered to conduct art therapy sessions at the Howard State Institute in Providence R.I. there he  created the series, "Closed Ward"  and later "The Locked Ward".  This is image number 8  from The Closed Ward Series.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title is: The Lake Front, Chicago, created and printed in  1910.  This image measures 9 3/8X12 1/2 inches.  As was the style of Whistler Pennell cut off the borders of this etching and has a tab signature in pencil.  Nicely framed, fine condition, a combination of etching, aquatint and plate tone.  This image appears in the Kennedy catalog as image number 596.  The edition was only 50 impressions.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  The subject is: Destroyers in Wet Basin at Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, South Kearny, N. J. U.S.S. Radford, Quick, Mervine - 1942.   This image measures 10X17 1/2 inches.  In the Fletcher catalog as image number 377

This is an original wood engraving by American artist Grace Albee.  The title is: Housing Problem, created and printed in 1937 in an edition of 80.  This impression is hand signed, titled and editioned in pencil.  The image measures 6 3/4X8 inches.  Printed on a light weight japan type sheet.

Published by Associated American Artists in New York,  in 1937; in edition of 250.  Painter, portrait painter, caricaturist, illustrator, lithographer, writer, art educator. Peggy Bacon studied with John Sloan and Kenneth Hayes Miller.

This is a fine original etching by American artist Chester Price.  The title is: The Municipal Building, created and printed  Circa 1930.  The image measures 12X8 inches.  Hand signed by the artist  in pencil.  One impression of this image is in the Smithsonian Museum.

This is an original pencil signed wood engraving by American artist Thomas Nason.  This image is titled: The Sheepfold it was created in 1947 in an edition of 100.  The image measures 3 1/8X7 1/2 inches.  Nicely Framed.  This image appears in the BPL catalog as image number 421.
