This is a fine aquatint etching by British artist Percival Gaskell.  The title is: The Lonely Tower, Roman Campagna, it was created and printed in 1924 in an edition of 150.  The image measures 10X14 1/4 inches, hand signed lower border in pencil.   Gaskell was born at Shipley in Yorkshire and educated in Cambridge. He studied art at the Royal College of Art, in Paris, and in Italy.

This very fine impression with its deep rich tones measures 11 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches, c. 1930. Presented on cream wove paper, this original drypoint has wide margins with a sheet size of 15 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower border. Born in England and educated in Cambridge, Gaskell studied art in London and Italy before studying under Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art.

A rare original etching by German Impressionist artist Lesser Ury, image size 6 1/2 x 5 3/ 8 inches, c. 1920, edition of 100, pencil signed. There is a repaired tear along the entire top margin, but it does not affect the image and will be easily covered by a window mat.

This lovely image of a young girl by the English printmaker Mortimer Menpes measures 5 3/4 x 3 1/2 inches and is pencil signed with an "imp" after his name indicating he was the printer. Etching and drypoint, dated 1882 in the plate. Menpes attended the School of Art in London in 1878 and started exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1880. He became a major figure in the etching revival, producing more than seven hundred different etchings and drypoints, which he usually printed himself.

Etching is 9 3/8 x 11 7/8 inches on 11 3/8 x 14 5/8 inch wove-type paper, printed by the artist. The work is pencil signed, c. 1910. The Church of St. Sophia, or "Sophienkirche", was the only gothic church in the whole city of Dresden. It was severely damaged in the Dresden bombing in 1945, and later destroyed completely in 1962 by the German Democratic Republic.
Menpes attended the School of Art in London in 1878 and started exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1880. Menpes was taught etching by James McNeill Whistler and they lived together for some time.

This print is very rate: it is the second state out of three, and is one of only two proofs of this state. The etching depicts Glanworth Castle in Cork, Ireland. Image measures 8 x 15 1/4 inches on 11 1/4 x 18 inch paper.
