As was the style of Whistler Pennell cut off the borders of this etching and has a tab signature in pencil. Nicely framed, fine condition, a combination of etching, aquatint and plate tone. This image appears in the Kennedy catalog as image number 596. The edition was only 50 impressions.

The label reads "Snow Bound, William J. Kaula, 34 Fenway Studios, 30 Ipswich St, Boston, Mass" The painting is titled Snow Bound, it was created and painted circa 1920. The painting measures 20 1/2X26 inches. It came to us in what appears to be the original gold frame. A beautiful lightly painted study of Snow and Clouds, most likely a view done in New Ipswich New Hampshire, towards Mt Monadnock.
