This is an original period printing of The Antoni Waterloo etching, Mercury and Argus.  This etching is the 2nd state of three showing the artist initials upper left corner, a proof before letters, The image is in the Barsch catalog as image number 127ii.  The image measures 11 1/2X9 1/2 inches.  The sheet measures 14X11 1/8 inches.   Collectors annotations and stamps on the back of the sheet, From the A. Coppenrath and Frierich Kalla, Moscow collection.  Good condition some light foxing.  Printed on an early laid paper with a Clown and Fools Cap watermark in the sheet.  A rare untouched impression, good borders all around.

This is an original Revolutionary war period engraving by Robert Pollard .   The subject is: "Lady Harriet Ackland Harrowed on the Hudson" In 1777.  This engraving is hand colored and appears to be a period printing done in London in 1784.  The image measures 15 1/4X20 5/8 inches.  The sheet has been professionally adhered to a support sheet and a few tears in the lower margin have been repaired. The borders on three sides have been trimmed to just outside the platemark.  The writing under the image appears to be complete.  The Engravers information appears just under the image: London: Robert Pollard, Brayne’s Row Spa Fields, 1784. Overall this is a very presentable engraving just as it now appears.  "A scarce engraving celebrating the pluck of Lady Harriet Ackland, shown here in a boat on the Hudson River going to the aid of her injured husband, who was captured by the Americans during the Battle of Saratoga.

This is an original color aquatint and etching by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title is Place Pigalle, it was created and printed in 1925 in an edition of 200 published by L'Estampe Moderne.  The image measures 11 1/4X15 3/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right border.  Place Pigalle is in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, in Montmartre.

This is an original etching with aquatint and drypoint by French artist Louis Legrand.  The title is: L'Habillage (Dressing)   a back stage view done for  the La Petite Classe, a series of 12 images  that Legrand created as a portfolio in  1908.  The image measures 16 3/4X11 3/4 inches.  This was the 4th state of 5 which includes the Remarque of a racehorse, printed in an edition of 30.  Signed in pencil and numbered,14/30.  This image appears in the Arwas catalog as image number 369.  This etching printed on a buff toned sheet is archivally framed.  This image was used as the cover of the Arwas catalog.

A richly inked drypoint from 1919. Catalog reference: Gaunt 245. Edition of 54. Pencil signed in the lower right. Plate measures 19 x 20 3/4 inches on 24 1/2 x 29 1/2 inch wove type paper. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.

Plate measures 11 5/8 x 15 1/4 inches on 15 1/8 x 19 inch watermarked wove type paper. An atmospheric etching that captures the bleak weather with splashes of color. F. Simon was born in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and traveled extensively throughout Europe, as well as Asia and the U.S. He lived in Paris from 1905-1913, then returned to Prague to teach at the Academy of Fine Arts. Simon was an exceptional painter and printmaker, and is best known for his atmospheric color etchings and aquatints, such as this wintry Paris scene.

This is a very rare etching from a scarce, unpublished plate by Francis Sydney Unwin. The image size is 12 1/8 x 16 inches, 1916, pencil signed; a richly inked impression on a fine cream colored Japan paper. Unwin studied at the Winchester School of Art and the Slade School; he traveled extensively throughout Europe and spent several months in Egypt drawing the tomb interiors for an archaeological expedition. He then settled in London, becoming known for his landscapes and remarkable interior architectural views, such as this finely detailed image of the Albert Hall. Unwin died at the age of 40, after suffering from tuberculosis for much of his adult life.

Etching with aquatint, image size 7 7/8 x 10 7/8 inches, 1918-1919, state VII/VIII, cat: Czestochowski-69, alternate title "Far Prospect," pencil signed, framed. Davies was a truly remarkable artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries known for his dreamlike etchings and lithographs. In his catalog raisonne of Davies work, Czestochowski writes "In a time of social, political, scientific and artistic upheaval, Davies hewed to an unwavering inner vision, one of classically graceful figures in an eternal dance with nature." This rare, early state etching is a perfect example of the combination of classicism and modernism of Davies' work.

This is an original pencil signed mezzotint by American artist Allesandro Mastro-Valerio.  This study of two bathers at the ocean has an image size of 7X6 3/4 inches.  Numbered as 20/35.  A scarce image by this well known artist and master of the modern mezzotint.  Printed on a heavy weight wove type sheet.  He was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers,  He is best known for his mezzotint* prints, particularly his female nudes.  His work helped to revive mezzotint as an artistic medium in the United States.
