This is a very richly inked original etching, image size 8 5/8 x 11 1/8 inches, 1939, published by the Print Club, Cleveland, Ohio, plate signed and dated, pencil signed. Edmund Blampied was a very successful artist and illustrator in early 20th century Britain. He illustrated many books and magazines, but is best known for his remarkable skills as a printmaker. He was an important figure in the 'British Etching Revival' of the early 20th century, and was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1920.

This is an original etching by British artist Edmund Blampied.   The title is: "The Vraic Season (No 1)" , it was created and printed in 1936 in an edition of 125 for the American College Society of Print Collectors.  The image measures 12X14 1/4 inches.  Very fine condition, hand signed in ink.  Vraic is seaweed that was harvested on the Channel Islands and used for potato fields.  The usual method was gathering it up with horse drawn carts.  A rich impression.

This etching was created and printed in 1931.  It is signed in sepia ink lower border and has the edition noted as 16/100.  The image measures 8 3/4X12 inches.  "Edmund Blampied (1886-1966) was one of the most eminent artists to come from the Channel Islands, yet he received no formal training in art until he was 16 years old. He was noted mostly for his etchings and drypoints published at the height of the print boom in the 1920s during the etching revival."(museum of New Zealand)
