This is an original pencil signed mezzotint by American artist Allesandro Mastro-Valerio.  This study of two bathers at the ocean has an image size of 7X6 3/4 inches.  Numbered as 20/35.  A scarce image by this well known artist and master of the modern mezzotint.  Printed on a heavy weight wove type sheet.  He was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers,  He is best known for his mezzotint* prints, particularly his female nudes.  His work helped to revive mezzotint as an artistic medium in the United States.

This is a fine original drypoint etching by Scottish artist David Young Cameron.  The title is: Castle Urquhart, created and printed in 1929 in an edition of 75 impressions.  Hand signed in pencil lower right.  Printed on a fine medium weight laid type sheet with watermark. " Castle Urquhart is situated on the banks of Loch Ness, with magnificent views across the Great Glen towards Inverness and Fort Augustus. Throughout its long existence, the castle has been an important strategic stronghold for anyone wishing to control the area, including both Robert the Bruce and Oliver Cromwell’s armies."

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Peggy Bacon, the title is: Promenade Deck, created and printed in 1920 in an edition of 500, published by The New Republic as a presentation print of their portfolio of 6 etchings.  The image measures 5 7/8X8 1/4 inches.  Flint 47.

This is a fine example of the excellent portraiture by British artist Gerald Brockhurst.  THis portrait created and printed in 1944 is of Mary Mellon, the wife of well known founder of Washington's National Gallery of Art Paul Mellon.  The image measures 10X8 inches, and is hand signed and dated in pencil lower right border.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  A beautiful rich impression, Brockhurst at his best... Reference, Fletcher 81, printed in an edition of 75.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist William Lionel Wyllie.  The title is: Old Waterloo Bridge, London, created and printed circa 1920.  The image measures 7 1/2X14 inches.  hand signed in pencil lower left border.  Wyllie was one of the leading British marine artists at the turn of the century .  Nicely framed, last sold by Harrods LTD in London.

This is a fine watercolor painting by British artist Myles Birket Foster (1825-1899)  The title is Along the Cornish Coast, created circa 1890 this painting has the artist's monogram 'BF" lower left corner.  The painting measures 8 1/2X20 inches, with the original gold matting in a modern gold frame.  Myles Birket Foster RWS was a British illustrator, watercolourist and engraver in the Victorian period. His name is also to be found as Myles Birkett Foster.

This is an original etching with aquatint and drypoint  by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title is: Nu Se Coffant, ca.  Nude Combing her Hair, circa 1906.  This etching is hand signed in pencil upper right within the image.  This is a rare black and white impression.  The image measures 19 1/2X13 inches. 

This is an original drypoint etching by French artist Paul Helleu.  This view of a Woman with Hat in Profile, was created and printed circa . 1905.  The image measures  21X13 inches. Identified lower right border.  Fine condition, printed on a wove type sheet.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American sporting artist Edmund Osthaus.  This etching is titled: The Dare Devil, created and printed circa 1910.  The image measures 15 5/8X9 3/4 inches, printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.

This is an original pencil signed etching by British artist Stanley Anderson.  The title is: The National Gallery, created and printed in 1925 in an edition of 109.  This image is pencil signed by the artist.  This impression is the second state an edition of 8, before the print collectors edition which was printed in an edition of 100 for the members.The image measures 8 3/4X11 1/4 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image appears in the Meyrick catalog as image number 167.  "One of the earlier group of Stanley Anderson’s scenes depicting the tramps of London, this image casts a somewhat cynical eye upon the established art in our major public galleries. The paintings hang unnoticed as the visitors sit, reading the newspaper or knitting, and the tramps lie asleep".  (Campbell)

This is a fine original etching by American regionalist artist Jackson Lee Nesbitt.  The title is: Evening in March, pencil signed and titled, created and printed in 1942.  The image measures 11 7/8X8 7/8 inches.  Very fine condition, a rich impression printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.

This is an oil on canvas painting of a Clipper Ship, unsigned, identified on the back of the canvas.  Created circa 1900 the canvas measures 22X36 inches.  On the back is a label which states: Purchased from Damariscotta Maine, by Horatio Colony of Keene New Hampshire.  This painting was deaccessioned  from the Horatio Colony Museum.  The painting is in need of a light cleaning, we are unsure of who the artist was, much in the style of Antonio Jacobson.  Framed.

This is an original hand signed etching by American artist Isac Friedlander. The title of this work is "Aftermath" alt. "Outcasts", this etching was created and printed in 1944.
This etching was created in an edition of 30 signed proofs, this one is inscribed as "Trial Proof #2", the image measures 14X11 inches, printed on a medium weight wove type paper. The artist's view of the aftermath of war in Europe.
Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Mitau, Latvia. He was arrested in 1906 and imprisoned by Russian authorities for anti- Czarist Political activities from 1906 to 1912. He studied art at the Academy of Rome, Italy from 1913 until 1917. He was a friend of Russian writer Maxim Gorky. Friedlander began his printing career in 1915. In 1917 he repatriated to Russia during the Kerensky regime, but in 1929 Friedlander immigrated to the US with the encouragement of his cousin Joseph Hirshhorn.

Original etching by the British artist, Arthur Brisco, measuring 6 1/2 x 10 7/8 inches, 1926, signed and numbered; 62/75, cat: Hurst-158. Britain's "General Strike" was the theme of Brisco's dramatic image of "The Orator". The strike, mainly by coal-miners upset with their goverments' reduction in wages and worsening conditions, also included dockers, printers, power station workers and transport workers, thus Brisco's interest in the subject.

This is an original woodblock print by American artist Isac Friedlander. it is titled: "Vanquished" it was created and printed in 1938, it is editioned as 1/4 impressions.
The image measures 10X12 inches, printed on a light weight laid type paper. It is hand signed,titled and editioned in pencil in the lower margin. Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Latvia. In 1912 he went to Italy where he met and worked with Russian artist Maxim Gorky. During this period he also received his only art training, studying etching, drawing and relief printing at the Academy of Rome. In 1937, he emigrated to New York where he worked full time as an artist until his death. He is best known for his woodcuts and etchings, and many museums have works by the artist, including the Smithsonian, Bibliotheque Nationale, and the Brooklyn Museum.
