20th Century European Prints

This is an original engraving by French artist Jean-Emile Laboureur (1877-1943)  This engraving on copper measures 3 1/4X4 1/4 inches.   Pencil signed lower left border, printed on a medium weight wove type paper. An edition mark, 5/8 lower right.  Created and printed circa 1920.

This is an original color etching by Austrian artist Hans Figura.  It is a view of the Tower Bridge on the Thames in London.  The image measures 8 3/4X12 1/4 inches.  This etching is hand signed in pencil in the lower right border.  Very nice condition.  "Hans Figura (Austrian, 1898-1978) noted painter and etcher who was well known for his aquatint etchings on paper or satin of European and American landscape and cityscape scenes, as well as paintings of landscape & cityscape scenes, Tyrolean Alp scenes of villages & chalets, street scenes, harbor & marine scenes ."

This is an original etching by British artist Percival Gaskell.  The title is: Penmaen Pool Bridge, North Wales.  It is hand signed in pencil, the image measures 5X6 3/4 inches.  "Penmaenpool toll bridge is a wooden toll bridge built in 1879 to replace a ferry crossing. It links the A493 running along the south bank of the Mawddach to the A496 running along the north."

This is an original  woodblock print by German artist Grete Schmedes, This view of a Summer cottage by the Brook is identified as Breslau Berlin.  The image measures 8 3/4X8 inches, hand signed in pencil lower right border, Printed on a light weight Japan type sheet, very fine condition.

This is a rare pencil signed impression of the Woodblock print by Czech artist Valerie Czepelka (1896-1980)  The title is Waldinneres (Woodland Scene) Created and later published as an unsigned edition published by "Vervielfaltigende Kunst" in 1933.  This is an earlier proof.  The image measures 8X7 3/4 inches.  Printed on a light weight Japan type sheet.

This is a fine drypoint etching by German artist Ernest Oppler.  The title Pierrot and Tanzerin  aka. Love and Ballet two figures on stage created and printed circa 1920 This etching is pencil signed and numbered 49/100.  The image measures 5 3/4X7 7/8 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  Oppler is best known for his images of Ballet and the theater.

This is an original drypoint etching by German artist Ernest Oppler.  The title is Tanzen Paare, created and printed circa 1920, this impression is hand signed in pencil and numbered 56/100.  The image measures 5X7 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  Oppler is best known for his studies of Dance and Theater.

This is an original pencil signed wood block print by German artist Peter Trumm.  The image measures 9 5/8X12 1/2 inches. printed in Germany in 1922 for the very rare "Die zweite Ganymed-Mappe" portfolio of "Das vierte Jahrbuch der Marees Gesellschaft", published in Munich by Marees-Gesellschaft, R. Piper & Co. This impression is one of the deluxe signed edition of 300 printed on thin japon paper.
