The image is titled: The Walls of Miraflores Lock, 1912. The image measures 18 1/2X24 3/4 inches, on a Fabiano watermarked laid type paper which measures 20 1/2X25 1/2 inches.

This image created and printed in 1943 is hand signed and titled: "Farewell" It is a large image measuring 16X12 1/4 inches. The image appears in the Cole catalog as image number 61. Printed in an edition of 100. Very good condition apart from some spots of thinning to the sheet in the outside border area well away from the image.

Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Mitau, Latvia. He was arrested in 1906 and imprisoned by Russian authorities for anti- Czarist Political activities from 1906 to 1912. He studied art at the Academy of Rome, Italy from 1913 until 1917. He was a friend of Russian writer Maxim Gorky. Friedlander began his printing career in 1915. In 1917 he repatriated to Russia during the Kerensky regime, but in 1929 Friedlander immigrated to the US with the encouragement of his cousin Joseph Hirshhorn.

This lithograph is pencil signed, inscribed 100 imp. One of his series of Circus images that Beal created when the circus came to New York City. This lithograph came to us from the Beal family.
