19th Century American Prints

Etching, image size 13 5/8 x 9 1/4 inches, plate size 15 x 10 inches, 1884, printed on medium weight laid paper, plate signed "Otto H. Bacher Forest City", "A Wheel Of Three Generations In 1884" on bottom of print. Bacher began etching in Cleveland in 1876 and continued his art in Munich, Paris and Venice.

This is an original etching by American artist Charles Adams Platt. The title of this work is :"The East River Bridge" - Brooklyn Bridge It was created and printed in 1888 and published by Frederick Stokes New York. The image measures 6 3/4X10 7/8 inches. It is signed and dated in the plate and also pencil signed lower right border.

This is an atmospheric original etching of a herd of sheep by American artist John Austin Sands Monks. Image size 11 x 16 1/2 inches, c. 1880s, shepherd's crook remarque in the lower right corner, pencil signed. A rich impression with beautiful plate tone and ample margins on Japan paper.

This is an original etching  by American artist Thomas Moran, this image done with roulette, sandpaper ground, drypoint and retroussage to create the etching.  The title of this work is: 

"The Coyote-Arizona, also known as "Twilight in Arizona".. This etching was created and printed in 1880.  It is plate signed with the TM monogram in the lower left corner of the image, printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  The image measures 5 7/8X8 3/4  inches, A very rich impression of this important etching by Moran.  This image appears in the Gilcrease catalog as image number 36.

This is a rare original etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The title is: "Northern Moorland,Marblehead".  It was created and printed in 1881.  The image measures 8 3/4X16 1/8 inches.  This image is plate signed and has the Parrish family stamp in the border on the far left.  This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 42.

This is a scarce etching by American artist Charles Adams Platt.  It is titled: The Harbor of Naples,  it was created and printed in 1887.  The image measures 5X7 5/8 inches.  Pencil signed lower right border, framed with a label from H.V. Allison & Co, New York,

This is a fine  pencil signed etching by American artist Edith Penman (1860-1929)  The title is Landscape, thought to be the Orchard at St. John's College, created and printed in 1888.  This etching has an image size 3 1/4X4 7/8 inches.  Printed on Japanese vellum paper.  Another impression of this etching is in the collection of The Parrish Art Museum in Southampton.  Nicely framed with archival matting.

This is a fine original etching by American artist Gabrielle de Vaux Clements.  This image of sailboats in Gloucester Harbor is pencil signed lower right,  It has an image size of 3X3 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.
