This is an atmospheric marine etching by J. Henry Hill, after the painting by Otis Weber. The image measures 14 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches, published in 1886 by Klackner, New York, pencil signed on the lower right margin. Hill came from a family of artists and became a well known landscape and marine painter keeping with the pre-raphaelite tradition, influenced by John Ruskin and David Johnson.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Charles Adams Platt.  The title of this work is "Pier at Larmor".  It was created and printed in 1885.  The image measrues 14 1/8X8 1/2 inches.  One of a series of Dutch etchings that he created during this period of travel in Europe.  This is included in the Platt catalog as image number P-55.  Framed.

This is a rare early etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title is Brasserie, Au Lion Rouge, created and printed in 1893 in an edition of only 40 impressions.  The image measures 6 1/4X8 1/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil and also signed by the printer Goulding.  This early image shows the influence that Whistler had on Pennell, in both the style and technique.  Nice use of plate tone within the image.  This image appears in the Wuerth catalog as image number 188.  A fine view of a Paris Brasserie.  This impression was last sold by Frederick Keppel and Co in New York. Label included.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Charles Adams Platt.  The title is: Buttermilk Channel.  with the Statue of Liberty in the background.  This etching was created and printed in 1889, the image measures 10 3/4X6 5/8 inches.  It appears in the Platt catalog as image number 107.  This etching is lightly toned, framed.

This is an extremely large hand colored engraving by William Overend Geller, after the painting by Baron Jolly. This engraving is titled: "Franklin at the Court of France, 1778". It was published in Philadelphia in 1853. The image measures 27 1/2X 37 3/4 inches on a sheet size of 31 1/2X40 inches. This engraving was originally sold with the edition of hand coloring in watercolor. The colors are very rich, the sheet is linen backed but in very good condition. Sold unframed.

This is an atmospheric scene of a ship coming into port, pulled by a tugboat; it is rendered with remarkabley delicate lines and a rich yet quite subtle tonal range, giving a strong sense of a soft morning fog over calm waters. The canvas sails of the ship beautifully contrast with the steam of the tug as is dissipates into the misty air. The image measures 19 x 23 inches, published in 1887, pencil signed on the lower right margin. "Copyright R. Cleveland Coxe, 1887, NY" is printed on the lower center, with a remarque of an anchor in the lower left margin. Framed. Coxe studied at the National Academy before going to Paris to study with Leon Bonnat. A painter and etcher, Coxe best works were of seascapes of the New England Coast.

This is an original pencil signed etching and drypoint by American artist Otto Bacher 1856-1909.  The title is: The Bridge, Schleissheim,  created and printed in 1879.The image measures 5 1/8X7 7/8 inches.  The platemark measures 5 7/8X8 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.   A fine rich impression.  Some very light even toning to the sheet but very presentable as it now appears.

Smillie.  The title is Double Hollyhocks, it was created and printed in 1889.  The image measures 8 5/8X5 5/8 inches.  Printed on a chine collet adhered to a thicker wove type sheet.  A beautiful impression of this very rare mezzotint by Smillie.
