Drypoint etching from 1921, pencil signed in the lower right. Plate measures 9 7/8 x 6 7/8 inches on 12 3/8 x 7 7/8 watermarked laid paper. Catalog: Wuerth 770. Edition of 50. A well inked impression with plate toning. Pennell was an important American etcher, lithographer and illustrator. Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography. Pennell was known for his continued experimentation with technique and style, producing cityscapes, landscapes and marine scenes. He also printed many of his own images.

This is a great London etching by American artist Clifford Addams, image size 8 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches, c. 1902, edition of 75, inscribed in the plate, "Loci dulcedo nos attinet" (the sweetness of the place holds us), pencil signed and numbered. Clifford Addams grew up outside Philadelphia and studied art in the U. S. before leaving to further his studies in Europe. He traveled extensively throughout Holland, France, Spain, Italy and Britain, and spent several years in London studying etching with Whistler. He later returned to the U. S. and worked out of studios in both New York and London. He was known for his European city scenes, such as this Whistleresque image of a man gazing out over the busy Thames.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title is The Woolworth Building, created and printed in 1915 in an edition of 100.  The image measures 11 3/4X7 3/8 inches.  THis image appears in the Wuerth catalog as image number 675.  This is a fine impression with 1/8 inches borders on two sides.  Typical of the printing of Pennell.  Framed.

Plate measures 8 x 9 5/8 inches on 9 3/4 x 11 3/8 inch wove type paper. Signed in blue ink in the lower right. Numbered in pencil in the lower left, print number 11 in an edition of 30. Good use of plate tone and a rich drypoint burr. Meyerowitz studied at the National Academy of Design in NY and is best known for his development of producing etchings in color. His work is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Carnegie Institute; National Academy of Design; Harvard University and the Library of Congress.

This is a fine block print by Kansas artist Clara Colline (1881-1945)  The title written in pencil lower left is: Wind in the Cottonwoods.  THis image done circa 1920 is hand signed in pencil and has an image size of: 9X11 3/4 inches.  Colline was a student of Birger Sandzen.  His influence is clearly seen here.

This atmospheric winter scene by the American artist, Ronau Woiceske measures 8 3/8 x 11 inches, pencil signed and titled. Woiceske was born in Bloomington Indiana and studied at the St Louis School of Fine Arts and at the Artist Colony in Woodstock, NY with Birge Harrison and John Carlson. He was involved in the WPA, and became known for his atmospheric etchings of snowy winter scenes. He was a member of the Philadelphia Print Club and the National Association of Etchers.

Summer in the Mountains, a fine early wood engraving by American artist Herbert Waters.  This image is pencil signed, titled and numbered as ed. 100..THe title is:  Summer in the Mountains, created and printed circa 1950.  This image measures 5 1/4X8 1/2 inches.  " Herbert Ogden Waters was born in Shantou, China, on November 15, 1903. The son of missionaries, he attended high school in Shanghai. Waters came to the United States to attend college, graduating from Denison University in 1926. He continued his studies at the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Harvard University."

This finely printed wood engraving by Surendorf measures 8 3/4 x 10 3/8 inches. It is matted and framed which measures 15 x 16 inches. The title, edition number and signature is in pencil on the lower margin. This strong impression is in excellent condition. Surendorf studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in NYC. He was a full member of the California Society of Etchers and the San Francisco Art Association. His works are included in the collections of the Achenbach Foundation in San Francisco, the Smithsonian Institute and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
