20th Century European Prints

This is an original etching with aquatint by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title is: Dans les Rochers,  created and printed in 1910.  The image measures 17 7/8X23 inches, printed on a medium weight laid type sheet with crown watermark.  Blind stamped lower left border.  A fine impressionistic view of an older couple watching the Fishing fleet set sail at sunrise.

This is a beautifully energetic original etching with drypoint by French artist Hermine David. The image size is 9 7/8 x 8 1/8 inches, published in 1927 in a small edition of 40, pencil signed and numbered. A rich impression on a medium weight watermarked wove type paper. Hermine David was born and raised in Paris and at the age of 16 was accepted into the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, later going on the study at the Academy Julien. She was a well known painter and printmaker and was very active in the thriving artist community in Paris in the early 20th century. She was married to fellow artist Jules Pascin for several years, but in 1920 the couple divorced and David set up her own studio in Montparnasse. She went on to have a long successful career as an artist and illustrator and was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1932.

This is a fine color aquatint by French artist Bernard Boutet de Monvel ..  It is titled Fillette a L'Ombrelle, created and printed in 1910.  The image measures 10 3/4X6 7/8 inches.  Signed in block letters in pencil lower right border.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  Numbered as 3/10.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist Edmund Blampied.  The title is: Agents of Change, created and printed in 1932.  This is numbered as 23/100 and hand signed in sepia ink lower border.  The image measures 6 3/4X9 3/4 inches.  This image appears in the Appleby catalog as image number 156, printed on a medium weight laid type sheet.

This is a fine original color aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe.  This image of a sleeping nude in the landscape is hand signed in pencil lower right and numbered as 33 lower left border.  The image measures 11 1/4X15 1/2 inches.  Printed on a medium weight Arches laid paper.

This is an original hand colored etching by British artist Elyse Lord.  The title of this image is Bird with Hydrangea.  Created and printed circa 1930 in and edition of 75.  This image is hand signed, numbered 58/75 and titled: "Chinese".  The image measures 11 1/4X12 1/4 inches.  Printed on a thin japan type sheet.

This is a fine etching and drypoint by Scottish artist David Muirhead Bone.  The title is: Shrimp Boats, Great Yarmouth.  It was created and printed in 1935 in an edition of 92.  Pencil signed lower right, the image measures 7 1/16X11 13/16  inches.  This image appears in the Dodgson catalog as image number 464.  This etching is framed with archival materials.

A richly inked drypoint etching from 1926. Catalog reference: Gaunt 325. Edition of 53. Pencil signed in the lower right. Plate measures 11 3/4 x 16 3/4 inches on 18 1/4 x 23 1/2 inch wove type paper. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.
