A great image of a Spanish bull fight, this etching with drypoint measures 10 1/8 x 11 1/2 inches, published in 1929 in an edition of 100, pencil signed and numbered. Hermine David was born and raised in Paris and at the age of 16 was accepted into the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, later going on the study at the Academy Julien. She was a well known painter and printmaker and was very active in the thriving artist community in Paris in the early 20th century. She was married to fellow artist Jules Pascin for several years, but in 1920 the couple divorced and David set up her own studio in Montparnasse. She went on to have a long successful career as an artist and illustrator and was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1932.

This lithograph by Hermine David measures 14 1/4 x 16 1/2 inches. Created in 1932, plate signed. David was known as one of the most outstanding women painters of the early 20th. century. Born and raised in Paris, at the age of 16 was accepted into the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, later going on to study at the Academy Julien. Equally well-known as a miniaturist and printmaker, she went on to have a long successful career as an artist and was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1932.

This is a fine original oil on canvas by French artist Hermine David 1886-1970.  The subject is a group of strollers in Luxembourg Gardens, Paris.  This painting done circa 1930 is signed lower right and measures 18 1/8X15 inches.  Housed in a custom French style frame.  Hermine was one of the Ecole de Paris artists.  In 1918 she married Jules Pascin.  Their association seems to have been an influence on the artwork of both artists.
