A richly inked original etching of Mt Shasta in the northern California Cascade Range, this image measures 5 7/8 x 8 inches, c. 1920s, it is pencil signed and titled and inscribed in blue ink. Mary Coulter was a student of Duvanek at the Cincinatti Art Academy, then the Art Institute of Chicago. She went on to work at the Art Institute of Chicago as the Curator of Prints and was the Assistant Director of the San Diego Fine Arts Gallery. She became known for her fine landscapes of both west and east coast scenes, and showed her work in many exhibitions worldwide. She was a member of the California Art Club along with Beatrice Clark, to whom this image is inscribed.
