This is an original hand signed and titled wood block print by Jamaican artist Albert Huie.  The title is: Market Women, created and printed circa mid -1940's.  The image measures 9 1/2X7 1/4 inches.  

Albert Huie (1920-2010) was a seminal figure in the formation and development of a national Jamaican artistic identity, overcoming the hurdles of a colonial-based system of race and class distinctions to become the first native-born Jamaican artist to attain international renown and respect. Working primarily in the areas of landscape, portraiture, and figurative art, he established a multiple award-winning career that spanned seven decades and earned him the title of “the Father of Jamaican Painting.”

This is a fine intimate portrait of the artist's wife by French artist Albert Besnard (1849-1934)  This image is hand signed and incribed in pencil lower border, the image measures 3 13/16X2 3/8 inches.  "This intimate portrait presents the artist’s wife, Charlotte, in a private moment, eyes closed and head propped on a pillow. Besnard must have admired his wife’s profile. He depicted her from this angle, in both paintings and prints, no less than six time."  This impression was in a show at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, in a show titled "Images of Women: 19th Century French Prints."

This is a beautiful, intimate portrait of a Depression-era worker by Albert Abramovitz. Linocut, image size 7 x 4 1/2 inches, c. 1930s, pencil signed and titled. Abramovitz was known for his dramatic images with sharp social commentary, many portraying the hardships of daily life for working class people in both America and Russia. Born in Latvia, Abramovitz studied at the Imperial Art School in Odessa and the Grande Chaumiere in Paris. While in Paris he was a member and juror of the Paris Salon, and won the Grand Prize at the Universal Exposition in Rome and Turin, Italy. In the 1920s Abramovitz emigrated to America, first the west coast then settled in New York City where he lived for the rest of his life. He created a number of prints for the WPA, and his work was included in exhibitions by the Union of American Artists, the American Artist's Congress, the ACA Gallery and the National Academy of Design.

This is a very rare pencil signed etching by Sir Francis Seymour Haden; it is an early proof, from before the edition published in Hamerton's 1880 'Etching and Etchers'. The image size is 5 1/2 x 7 7/8 inches, 1877, cat: Schneiderman-161, plate signed and dated, pencil signed, a very rich impression on a laid type paper, framed. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler. He was a founder and the first president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and was knighted in 1894. Haden created a number of remarkable etchings featuring scenes of fishing in the British countryside, of which this is one of his finest.

This is a very fine impression of the etching titled: Boston Stump, created and printed by American artist Harold Kerr Eby in 1925.  The subject is the tower of St. Botolph's Church in Boston, England.   This etching printed in an edition of 90 has an image size of 14 1/8X9 3/8 inches.  It is pencil signed lower right and has the 'imp" after his name meaning that he printed this impression himself.  This etching is in a fine Frame using archival materials.

This is an original etching by French artist Auguste Louis Lepere.  The title is: La Mare de la Prairie, Crèvecoeur, it was created and printed in 1913.  This appears to be an earlier state.  The image measures 6X10 inches.  It has the edition as 27/35.  This etching is hand signed in pencil lower right, printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  THis image appears in the Saunier catalog as image number 404.

This is an original etching by American 19th century printmaker, Stephen Parrish.  The title is: A Showery Day, St. Augustine  This image was created and printed in 1884.  The image measures 5 5/8X9 5/8 inches.  It is hand signed in pencil and has the title written in the artists hand in the lower margin.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 100.

This is a pencil signed etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The title is: On the Rance, Brittany.  It was created and printed in 1887.  The image measures 4 3/4X9 1/4 inches, printed with a warm toned ink.  A small imperfection at the upper edge of the plate.  It appears to have been a flaw in the copper plate.  This River runs through Dinan on its way north to St. Malo in Brittany.  This etching is framed with archival materials.
