This is a fine modernist wood engraving by American artist John P. Heins (1896-1969)  This wood engraving was created and printed 1936 in an edition of about 28, created for the WPA in NYC.  The image measures 5 7/8X7 3/4 inches.  This is a rare unstamped proof purchased from the artist's estate.

This is an original wood block print by American artist Isac Friedlander.  Created circa 1930 this image is titled: "Companions", It is pencil signed and titled in the lower border.  The image measures 11 3/4X9 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Mitau, Latvia. He was arrested in 1906 and imprisoned by Russian authorities for anti- Czarist Political activities from 1906 to 1912. He studied art at the Academy of Rome, Italy from 1913 until 1917. He was a friend of Russian writer Maxim Gorky. Friedlander began his printing career in 1915. In 1917 he repatriated to Russia during the Kerensky regime, but in 1929 Friedlander immigrated to the US with the encouragement of his cousin Joseph Hirshhorn.

This is an original pencil signed color aquatint etching by Austrian artist Tavik F. Simon.  The title of this work is: Saint Nicholas Market in Staromestske Namesti, which was part of his  Prague series, created and printed in 1916.  The edition was 225 impressions.  Printed on a medium weight arches watermarked wove type paper. The image measures 12 5/8X15 1/2 inches.  Very fine condition.  This image appears in the Novak catalog as image number 268.

This is a very fine original etching and drypoint by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden. The title of this work is "On the Test", state VI/VIII. This etching was created in 1859 and its subject is one of the famous Trout streams in Hampshire. The image measures 5 15/16X 8 15/16 inches, pencil signed lower right and also signed in the plate. This appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 24.

This is an original aquatint etching by American artist Lester G. Hornby.  It is titled: Marabout Tombs, Tunis, 1909, and is described in the plate as: "Evening of the Bal Masque", the image measures 9 1/2X14 1/2 inches, pencil signed lower right corner.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  This is a very scarce etching.  It appears in the Falk catalog as image number 301.

This is a fine impression of the well known Seymour Haden etching, The Towing Path.  Created in 1864, this impression done in drypoint and etching is the 7th state of 12.  This etching measures 5 9/16X8 1/2 inches.  Hand signed in pencil and printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  The French title is: "La Promenade Au Bord De L'Eau"  This image appears in the Schneidermann catalog as image number 72  VII/XII.

This is an original drypoint etching by French artist Alphonse Legros.  The subject is: "La Ferme de Brieux" (Farm at Brieux in a storm)  The image, pencil signed, measures 7 1/16X13 1/16 inches.  Printed on a thick wove type paper.  Catalog H 84, III state, an edition of 50.  A very rich impression with a rich burr.  Created circa 1890's.

This is a fine example of his Spanish Church Series by American artist John Taylor Arms.  The title is: Puerta Del Obispo, Zamora (The Bishop's Door, Zamora)  This etching was created and printed in 1933.  This image printed on a grey toned, watermarked, laid type paper measures 12 1/2X7 1/8 inches.  It is inscribed "to my friends, mr. and mrs Andrew Daglish"  (The British printmaker and his wife)  The beautifully detailed image appears in the Fletcher catalog as image number 266.

This is a hand signed original etching by British artist James Mcbey.  This image is titled: California, San Luis Obispo, it was created and printed in 1941.  This impression is numbered as 38 from the edition of 48. "XXXVIII".  Very nice condition printed on a warm toned sheet, the image measures 6 1/2X14 1/8 inches.  In the Hardie catalog as image number 283.

This is a very richly inked original etching by French artist Albert Besnard. The image size is 11 3/8 x 7 5/8 inches, published in 1887 in an edition of fewer than 100 impressions, cat: Coppier- 63, pencil signed. Besnard studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and for the beginning of his artistic career concentrated on a very academic style of painting and composition, before adopting a more impressionistic approach of portraying light and color; later he went to England to study portraiture with Thomas Gainesborough and Joshua Reynolds.

This is a fine collaboration between Kerr Eby and John Taylor Arms.  This image is titled; Medieval Pageantry, it was created and printed in 1933 in an edition of 100, 50 to Arms and 50 to Eby.  The image measures 12 5/8X8 5/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right by both artists.  This image appears in the Giardina catalog as image number 179.  The subject is Sainte Radegonde in Poitiers, France.
