20th Century American Prints

This is an original color etching by American artist Dorsey Potter Tyson.  The title is Siamese Dancers, created and printed in 1928 in an edition of 100.  This impression is numbered as XXVIII.  It is also hand signed in pencil. The image measures 8X9 7/8 inches.  It came to us in the original frame from Casson Galleries in Boston.  

This is an original pencil signed and titled screenprint by American artist Guy Maccoy.  The title is: It is Evening, created and printed in 1949.  The image measures 11X14 1/4 inches.  "Maccoy made his first artistic screenprints in 1932 and taught the medium in Colorado and Los Angeles during the 1940s and 1950s."

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Leonard Baskin.  This image measures 17 3/8X11 3/4 inches.  Printed on a wove type sheet.  A committed figurative artist, and the son and brother of rabbis, Baskin's work often focused on mortality, Judaism, the Holocaust and other angst-ridden themes.  This etching done on a thick wove type sheet has 4 spots of old glue residue in the corners of the sheet, well outside the image area.

THis is a fine original lithograph by Chicago artist Helen Noel.  This pencil signed impression showing a group waiting for the subway was created and printed circa 1940's.  The image measures 9X11 inches, some minor spots of rust, unobtrusive.

This is a fine pencil signed impression , an original  wood engraving created by American artist Asa Cheffetz.  This image, Titled: Vermont,  was created in 1941  and sold through  Associated American Artists in New York.  The image measures 6 1/4X10 inches.  It appears in the Springfield catalog as image number 59.

This is an original pencil signed wood engraving by American artist Asa Cheffetz.  The title of this work is Pastorale (Vermont)  It was originally sold by Associated American Artists in New York.  The image measures 4 1/2X 10 inches.  This image appears in the Springfield catalog as number 65.

This is an original drypoint etching by American artist Chauncey F. Ryder.  The title is: French Hill,  it was created and printed in 1941 for the Albany Print Club.  This one is inscribed as AP, artist's proof.  The image measures 10 1/2X13 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  Hand signed and titled in pencil.

This is an original early etching by American artist Chauncey Ryder, created circa 1920 during his trip to France. This etching is pencil signed, very richly printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  The image measures 9X12 inches.   Gorbio, France is a perched medieval village, high-up above Menton, in the southeastern corner of the Côte d’Azur. 

This is an early impression of the etching, The Golden Cornice no,1 by American artist Joseph Pennell.  It was created and printed in 1904 and appears in the Wuerth catalog as inage number 349.  The image measures 10 3/4X7 1/4 inches.  We have another impression that was created with much more dramatic inking.

This is an original pencil signed etching of New York City by American artist Karl Dehmann (1886-1974)  This image is of Broadway, N.Y.  created and printed circa 1928.  The image measures 10 7/8X6 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper with a crown watermark.

A fine original wood engraving by American artist Thomas Nason. The title of this piece is: "A New England Stream" It was created and printed in 1951 in an edition of 400. This image was originally sold through Associated American Artists in New York. The image measures 5 5/16X9 7/8 inches, printed on a medium weight wove type paper. Excellent condition hand signed by the artist lower right. This image appears in the BPL catalog as image number 489.
