Etching, image size 6 7/8 x 9 3/4 inches, c. 1915, unsigned, estate stamped on reverse, titled in pencil, possibly in the artist's hand. Kuehne was an American artist who studied in NYC before traveling extensively throughout Europe. After returning to the U.S. he became friends and colleagues with Edward Hopper, William Glackens and Charles Prendergast. From 1914-1917, Kuehne lived and worked in Spain creating many landscapes and architectural scenes, including this view of a bridge over the San Martin River in Toledo.

He was one of the founders of the Rockport Art Association and a member of the Cape Ann art colony. He won awards at the Salmagundi Club and the New York Water Color Club.
