This a very fine original etching by American artist Charles Adams Platt, image size 8 1/2 x 14 1/4 inches, 1885, cat: Rice-62, signed and dated in the plate, pencil signed. A richly inked impression with beautiful plate tone, printed on a cream colored Japan type paper with ample margins. C. A. Platt was born in New York and studied art at the National Academy of Design, the Art Students League and the Academie Julian. He was a very successful painter and etcher, known for his delicately rendered New England landscapes and harbor scenes. He was also a very talented architect and a member of the Saint-Gaudens Art Colony in Cornish, NH.
