This is an original period old master etching by German artist Augustin Hirschvogel.  The title is Die Jag d auf den Wilden Baren, (The Hunt for the Wild Bear) created and printed in  1545.  Initialed and dated lower left corner of the image.  the image size measures 6X7 5/8 inches, printed on an antique laid type sheet.  This image appears in the Bartsch catalog as image number 24.

This is a pencil signed impression of the well known Charles Adams Platt etching titled: Afternoon on the Maas, created and printed in 1885.  The image measures 16 3/4X12 7/8 inches.  It appears in the Platt catalog as image number 61.  "On the shore at the left a huge windmill rises above a group of buildings.  Close by a lugger is moored, at the right two more float on the tranquil stream"  The etching is laid down to a backing board.

This is an original etching by Ludovic N Lepic.  The title is Les Patineurs, created and printed in 1869, hand signed in blue crayon lower left.  The image measures 5 1/2X10 7/8 inches.   Printed on a chine colet adhered to a thicker sheet of wove type paper.  Some toning on the outer edges of the borders and on the back of the sheet.

This is an original drypoint etching by French artist Jules Pascin 1885-1935.  The title is Bal Tabarin, ( The tabarin Ball) created and printed in  1926 in an edition of 100, this impression is hand signed in pencil and numbered 30/100.  The image measures 11 1/4X13 1/4 inches.  "Pascin was Bulgarian and moved to Paris in 1905. He exhibited at various Paris art shows and was also an exhibitor at the Armory Show in New York in 1913. He moved to New York with his lover, Hermine David, and they eventually married in 1918. Like Toulouse-Lautrec, Pascin drew upon his surroundings and his friends as subjects. Nightlife scenes, such as this one, were typical of his artwork"

TISSOT, JAMES JACQUES JOSEPH (1836 - 1902) "Le Portique de la Galerie Nationale a Londres" (The Portico of the National Gallery, London)  This is an original etching with drypoint published in an edition of 100 in 1878.  The image measures 14 7/8X8 1/4 inches.  Signed within the plate lower right. "This etching is related to the painting London Visitors exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1874, no. 116. The setting is the portico of the National Gallery, looking toward the Church of St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields. Such works give Tissot a minor but distinguished position as a predecessor of the school of architectural etchers founded on the style of Whistler’s Thames and Venice etchings. This etching was exhibited at the Grosveror Gallery, 1879."  This etching is nicely framed with archival materials.

This is the well known etching taken from the Thames series by American artist James McNeill Whistler.  The title is The Adam and Eve, Old Chelsea, created in  1879.  This impression is the 3rd state of 3 prior to the cancellation of the plate.  The image measures 6 7/8X11 3/4 inches.  Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.  The artists butterfly monogram upper left center.  A rich impression, very light toning to the sheet.  "The 'Adam and Eve' was a public house by the River Thames in Chelsea, London. It was demolished to make way for the Chelsea Embankment. The view is taken from Old Battersea Bridge."  The Kennedy catalog has this as image number 175.

This is an original etching by American artist James McNeill Whistler.  The subject is: The Little Putney Bridge, created in 1879.  This impression printed on an antique laid type sheet measures 5 1/4X8 inches.  This impression is the 4th state of 5 according to the Glasgow catalog image number K179.  This impression shows the soft foul biting in the plate mostly in the water.  Nice use of plate tone, a rich impression.  "The bridge over the River Thames linking Putney on the south side with Fulham to the north, in London, UK. The timber bridge was built by a master carpenter, Thomas Phillips, to a design by the architect Sir Jacob Ackworth, and opened in 1729. It was a toll bridge, with tollbooths at either end. It was damaged by a river barge in 1870, and although repaired, it was eventually demolished and replaced by the present stone bridge in 1886. It may be that Whistler thought it worth recording the old bridge before it was demolished,"
