Featured Prints

This is a fine line engraving by French artist Jean Emile  Laboureur.  The title of this work is La Photographe, it was created and printed in 1923.  This impression is numbered 40/55.  The image measures 4 3/4X3 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  Hand signed in pencil lower left border.   Though Laboureur was initially inspired by Lautrec and the Primitivism of Paul Gaugin, he is considered to be the first printmaker to be strongly influenced Cubism. By the end of World War I, the artist had gained wide acclaim as a book designer and illustrator. The artist died on June 16, 1943 in Pénestin, France

This is an original pencil signed and titled drypoint etching by French artist Edgar Chahine.  The title of this work is Nina, Venise it was created and printed in 1923.  This imagre appears in the Tabanelli catalog as image number 368.  A fine impression printed on a toned chine-colle adhered to a thicker supporting sheet.  The image measures 12 1/4X8 1/4 inches.

This is an original wood engraving by American artist Herbert Waters.  The title is: Arden Falls, Early Spring, created and printed in  1969 in an edition of 65 impressions.  This large image measures 5 1/2X15 3/4 inches.  Pencil signed, titled and numbered as 32/65.  Very fine condition, rich inking, incredible detail.  Arden Falls on the Tygart River  is in West Virginia .

This is a fine original wood engraving by American artist Leo Meissner.  The title is: Days End, it is pencil signed, titled and numbered as 8/40.  The image measures 8X10 3/4 inches.  Created and printed in 1936.  Most likely the coast of Maine.

This is an original engraving by Paulus Pontius after the painting by Anthony Van Dyck. The image size is 9 5/8 x 6 3/4 inches, c. 1700s, inscribed "Ant. van Dyck pinxit" and "Paul. du pont sculpt" in the lower left margin, with the title and a phrase in Latin below the image, with the original Kennedy Gallery label. Stalbent was a Flemish landscape painter and friend of Anthony Van Dyck when this portrait was painted. This engraving is printed on a very early laid type paper with margins trimmed to approximately 1/4 inch outside of the plate mark, some foxing as is to be expected in a print of this age.

This is an original etching with aquatint by French impressionist Edward Manet .  The title is Theodore De Banville Facing Left, 1874.  This image was intended to be an illustration for his Les Ballades series.  This image measures 9 3/8X6 1/4 inches.  This impression was pulled from the cancelled plate in the early 20th century.  Printed on a Arches laid type paper.  This image appears in the Manet catalog as image number 64.  Théodore Faullain de Banville (14 March 1823 – 13 March 1891) was a French poet and writer. His work was influential on the Symbolist movement in French literature in the late 19th century.

This is a fine original lithograph by British artist Clara Klinghoffer.  This study of a seated nude has an image size of  13 3/4X11 7/8 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet, hand signed in pencil lower right.

This is one of the most impressionistic mezzotint studies created by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden.  It is titled: "Grayling Fishing", it was created and printed in 1897.  It is state II/V.  This is a beautiful impression but does have a long touched up scratch on the right side of the composition.  Pencil signed,  by Haden and also signed by Golding, his printer.  There are printing instructions on the lower left of the border by Golding.  The image measures 7 1/2X11 3/4 inches.

This is a rare original lithograph by Chicago artist Helen Noel.  The image is hand signed and titled in pencil: Rhythm, created mid 1940's.  The image measures 11X11 3/4 inches.  Numbered as 6/10.  Some minor condition issues, unobtrusive.  A fine view of Dancers in a music hall.

This is an original pencil signed etching by British artist David Young Cameron.  It is titled: A Dutch Farm, art of his North Holland Set.  This etching was created and printed in 1892.  The image measures 4 5/16 X 8 15/16 inches.Printed on an early laid type sheet with collectors stamp lower corner of the border.  This etching came to us with 1/8 inch margins on three sides.

This is a fine original etching by American artist William Meyerowitz.  The title of this image is Calm Sea, it is most likely a scene of Gloucester Harbor.  This pencil signed impression measures 7X11 1/2 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image was created and printed circa 1930.  Its a rare etching by Meyerowitz.

This is an original etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title is "The Latest Tower", it was created and printed in 1923 in an edition of 40.  The image measures 12 1/8X9 1/4 inches.  This image is hand signed in pencil with the "imp" after the name meaning that the artist printed this proof himself.  This etching is printed on an antique laid type paper.  This image appears in the Wuerth catalog as image number 815.

This is an original etching of Baltimore by American artist Gabrielle Clements.  It was created and printed in 1924.  This etching is signed and dated in the plate lower left and also hand signed in pencil lower right border. This etching has an image size of  10 1/4X12 1/2 inches.  Fine use of plate tone in the street and sky.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  In the foreground is a Battle Monument, created in 1825 and dedicated to the those fighters who fought against the  British incursion of 1815...

This is an original pencil signed and dated etching of New York City by American artist Ernest Roth.  The title is: Madison Square Park.  This image was created and printed in 1918, this impression is pencil signed with the date 1919.  The image measures 13 3/4X9 7/8 inches.  The impression shows rich inking and nice use of plate tone in the background.  This etching is nicely framed with archival materials.
