This is a very large mezzotint by British artist Percival Gaskell. We are unsure of the title, it shows a fine landscape with pond at sunrise. This mezzotint is pencil signed by the artist and printed on a thin chine collet attached to a thicker sheet of wove type paper. The image measures 12 3/34X18 1/4 inches. Some light foxing in the outer border area.
This is a fine line engraving by French artist Jean Emile Laboureur. The title of this work is La Photographe, it was created and printed in 1923. This impression is numbered 40/55. The image measures 4 3/4X3 3/4 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper. Hand signed in pencil lower left border. Though Laboureur was initially inspired by Lautrec and the Primitivism of Paul Gaugin, he is considered to be the first printmaker to be strongly influenced Cubism. By the end of World War I, the artist had gained wide acclaim as a book designer and illustrator. The artist died on June 16, 1943 in Pénestin, France
